ESPN College Game Day

Sunday, September 22, 2013

So yesterday was a really big deal... ESPN College Game Day came to Fargo! They shut down most of downtown and set up their big screen and all the frills right in the middle of the street. There were people on top of buildings and hanging out of the windows and it was really hard to get up close to see what was going on, but it was cool.

Loving

Friday, April 5, 2013

Without complaining too much or sounding like a broken record, things are still a little hard around here. I haven't journaled much about us because most things are the same: we are still wearing our winter coats well into April and expecting some snow today. Everyone keeps saying that spring is going to come, it's on its way, but I am starting not to believe them and forgetting what spring is even like.  I have kept busy with hand lettering though and that has given me something to do and enjoy, and more importantly hope. Hope that the sun will keep shining and the air will warm up, hope that my talents will develop and I will get more projects to work on. It is a wonderful thing, hope, because it brings me to the next day excited.

I  will say this little guy is the best thing to happen to us and am pretty convinced that he is the reason we have gotten (still getting) through this winter. My sister said it looks like he ate a balloon! Ha, it does but it's also because he was trying to hold himself up while I was kissin all up on him.

Family

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

We were lucky enough to see family this last weekend and soaked up every moment with them. Scott's parents drove in for the weekend and we did lots of eating, watching basketball and playing with the pups. It was just what we needed. They were constantly surprised by the amount of snow we have, kept referring to our sidewalks and streets as tunnels since the snow is built up so high on the sides.

We spent lots of time at the dog park, it was fun letting the puppies run around our house but it would get a little carried away after awhile. Wesley and Penne chased and chased and chased each other (the only time the whole weekend hey let up was Saturday night before they left). This funny .gif of Penne running after Wesley having to screech to a halt. We had fun!

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Monday, March 18, 2013

This weekend we decided to bear the cold and go on a nice walk in the sunshine. On Saturday we went to the dog park and to the St. Patrick's Day parade downtown. It was pretty funny, they had a bunch of tractors driving down the street at the parade and I was knee deep in snow walking down the hill!
We had a great weekend and were so happy to see the sunshine! Wesley just loves the snow! I love our little family!

Sunday

Sunday, March 10, 2013

I love Sundays, they truly are my favorite day. Today was a wonderful day for me. It was the first day in a long time that I had the feeling that spring was coming and there was warm days ahead. It is crazy what the sun and 25 degree weather will do to ya. Wesley and  I were on our own today and had the kind of Sunday I love (except I love Sundays even more with Scott): dishes, laundry and vacuuming (not all my favorite but had to be done), dog park date (the Shepard mix ran and ran Wesley, he loved it), picked up some groceries and met Scott for lunch at the hospital, and then my favorite part! Wesley and I took a 3 hour nap! It must have been the sun shining in and warming us up because I hadn't had a nap like that in a long time and it was much needed.

Around here lately has been a good kind of busy. We are gearing up for visitors in a couple weeks for a couple weekends which we are really excited about. It has brought a little bit of spring cleaning out in us which also makes us feel better. I just finished my first big paid project: a custom lettered and designed wedding suite! The invitation has 5 components to it and I am so happy about how it all came together. Another fun project I just got done with was a custom lettered book stamp for a dear friend of mine. I am excited to share pictures but do want them to receive their products first. I also have a little girls first birthday party invitation I am working on and am so excited about it.

Here is hope to warmer and happier days ahead (and maybe some spring shoe shopping, I got my eyes on this, this and this)

Above picture is what most of the sidewalks look like in town: 2 feet of snow barrier on each side. Wesley loves to just swim and barrel through the snow banks on our walks.

Sunday Living

After a long week, this Sunday is just what we needed. Don't you eat a pan of brownies by the spoonful too?? Our secret is to use box mix and add instant coffee and walnuts to the mix. Yum!

Last Weekend

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Last weekend we got a major snow storm, I think something like 10 inches where we are. This weekend though the sun is out, it is much colder but the branches all have that beautiful frozen dew on them, and then they start to sparkle in the sunlight.

Here are some snow pictures from last weekend...

^^I got all bundled up to play with Wesley outside since it was too cold and too much snow to walk through to get to any of the parks. We threw the ball back and forth in the driveway./ Scott just got done shoveling part of our driveway Sunday night so we could drive over the huge (2ft!) mound of snow the snow plows blocked us in with. Isn't it crazy how much it was snowing?! That is what all those white streaks are in that photo with Scott.

^^The branches outside our house. What they looked like this fall/ Our pretty street
^^There is no more room for snow behind the gate where we park our cars/ Wesley done playing and wanting to go inside.

The storm was so crazy: most business were closed on Monday (ours was closed till 10A), our jetta would have bottomed out in our driveway and gotten stuck if we would have tried to drive it, we almost got the truck stuck in a drift, Scott made a snow angle and Wesley just loved it and was going crazy! Here is a funny video of him running in circles to prove it. It is a long video but pretty funny how he just charges through the snow.

Happy Weekend

Friday, December 7, 2012

I saw this beautiful photo on Bri's instagram and couldn't stop looking at it. How beautiful is that pool that spills over into the ocean!? I am craving some sunny weather and ocean time.

Just wishing you a happy realxing weekend. We are planning on snuggling in and waiting for the big cold snow storm to come. We also will be enjoying all the Wesley time we can get in since we have to leave him for the holidays (he won't fit under the seat in front of us).
