My Best Friend's Custom Book Stamp

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

I really have some of the best friends and encouragers.  Jenny and I became BFFs pretty much within 2 months of both of us both moving/transplanting here to Lexington.  She purchased about 4 or 5 stamps back around the holidays as gifts and now I made one for both her and her husband, Warren, to stamp in all their books.  In fact I am working on another stamp for her to gift right now! I tell you friends who believe in you are good and important.  Anyways, we created this stamp with a silhouette of the mountain range from where they got married in North Carolina. It has a little special touch to it that will always mean something to them when they see it.  You can purchase your own stamp here from my shop

All stamps are designed with you! You tell me what you are looking for in terms of design and feel of the stamp. I then present you a draft for you to approve or suggest edits to.  After your approval, I have the stamp made on laser cut rubber and a wooden base that has your design engraved on the top to allow for perfect placement. There also is a wooden handle installed on the top to help with stamping.

Olive Branch Return Address Stamp

Monday, May 11, 2015

This week we are talking stamps! This stamp has evolved to be one of my favorite designs.  It is so beautiful and to have all your information cradled by two hand drawn olive branches really looks classic on the back of an envelope.  You can purchase your own stamp here from my shop

Wheat Branch Return Address Stamp

Friday, February 6, 2015

One of those six stamps, I did back at Christmas included this design.  The family is really into beer and even owns their own brewery so my friend, Jenny, (who was gifting the stamps) asked to include some sort of wheat or barley stem to hold the address together.  I think it is so cool and love how the simple design came together!

Thanks for looking! And if you are looking for your own stamp, please check out my shop here

Mountain Range Stamps

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

The last round of stamps I did for my friend Jenny all included a very personal touch.  She wanted to include a mountain range that was meaningful to the recipient in the design of their stamp.  We worked on these four stamps which included library stamps and a return address stamp.

Please leave me a message or email me if you would like your own personal stamp! Or check out my shop.  Thanks for looking! -Amy

Classic Book Stamp

Monday, February 2, 2015

A friend of mine ordered about six stamps to gift to a lot of her friends and families for Christmas.  She had such meaningful things to add to each of the stamps which I will show you soon, but for a couple of them we used my most popular and classic designs.  Remember how I was saying, some designs just come together really well?  Well, this is one of those stamps too.  I just love it.  I know I might be crazy, but some designs I could just stare at because they look just the way I wanted them too.  Hey! Maybe this means I am getting better at my hobby.

Anyways, if you are still reading thank you for listening to my rambling.  You can purchase your own book stamp here in my shop!

Our Branch Return Address Stamp

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Our stamp this year turned out just how I hoped it would.  In the mist of designing everyone else's return address stamps this past season, I managed to get ours done too an still can't get enough of the branch look (I also used the branched for our book stamp too).  The above photo shows you part of the wooden handle included in the stamp and below is the computer generated image of our stamp.

Here is a link to buy your own branch return address stamp.  It can also be customized to be letterhead or for a book stamp too!

Tree Return Address Stamp

Friday, January 23, 2015

Another one of the stamps I worked on before the holidays was a tree stamp for my in-laws who just moved to Montana.  Getting a personal stamp is always fun to use for your new home. We changed the design a bit, and omitted the circle like the other tree stamps I had designed and love how more of the focus is on their name now.

You can purchase your own tree return address stamp here.  All stamps are laser engraved in rubber and applied to a wooden block that also has the image engraved on it.  Stamps also include a wooden handle to ensure an even press and a beautifully stamped stamp every time.

Personal Return Address Stamp

Monday, January 19, 2015

This was one of my favorite return address stamp to design as of late because the design just came together so great.  I really love the design process, but some projects take a little more to them to make them look really great and for some reason this one was easy and quick.  My friend Nikki, is so incredibly talented and usually comes to me with a very clear vision of what she is looking for.  The story behind this stamp is kind of special and these people above are very special to her.  The couple got engaged in Atlanta in the Olympic Rings and Nikki wanted to incorporate that special time into their stamp.  We came up with couple designs, but one of the designs we added the Atlanta sky line as seen from the Olympic Park where he proposed.  We ended up going with a more personal design below with her ring design incorporated into the stamp.

Simple Style of Calligraphy Return Address Stamp

Friday, January 16, 2015

I did a lot of stamps this last season and can't wait to share them all with you! I started working on a much slimmer and drawn out style of calligraphy stamp for families who are looking for a simple and clean return address stamp.  I love how it comes a cross when stamped and how the address is straight forward with the last name being the main focus.

I originally designed the top stamp for a family who won it in an auction.  I donated some work to a friend's school auction to raise money for her daughter's co-op class and she said this was one of the highest bidders! The bottom stamp was designed for a wonderful couple and friend out in California.

If you would be interested in wanting your own stamp, check out my shop here.  People always think they will never use their stamp, or only use them for Christmas/ Holiday Cards, but really I use them whenever I send out a thank you card or any birthday cards too!

Fish Stamp

Monday, October 13, 2014

I'm so happy that I have a product that so many people seem to love! I designed another fish stamp for someone in New York and they love it! I'm working on a redesign for the stamp that I am excited about but people are still happy with the return address stamps as they are.

Thanks so much for looking! You can purchase your own stamp from my shop.

Calligraphy Nursery Book Stamp

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

I got an inquire for the most beautiful baby shower gift... a nursery stamp! My client wanted a stamp to gift so her friend could stamp all of her baby's new books with a special stamp. We framed the stamp in the branches design and added the family's last name in calligraphy.

If you are looking for your own book or nursery stamp, you can get one here!

Personalized Book Stamp

Friday, August 29, 2014

I designed such a special stamp for one of Scott's classmates. They were married about a year ago and she wanted to gift her husband a family book stamp for their first anniversary (which traditionally is paper) and I thought it was so clever and thoughtful!
She chose the wreath design to surround their names written in calligraphy. They both love it and can't stop stamping all their books with their new stamp. She said her husband is "so proud of his book collection! And this isn't even all of them". Too funny! Thanks guys! So happy you love it!You can find your own book stamp here in my shop.

Business Card Stamp

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

I recently had the pleasure of working on a business stamp with Zaira of Zaira Benson! She designs and sews the most adorable baby clothes and just started offering a 'mommy and me' line too! She asked for help to have a business stamp designed that she can stamp on cards to attach to the clothing she sells. We included her logo, website, email address and instagram information.

If you are looking for your own stamp, just send me a message to amedetails at gmail dot com or fill out the contact page here on my website. Thanks!

Book Stamps for The Color Workshop

Monday, August 4, 2014

I had the honor of designing a set of stamps to be used as gifts for The Color Workshop: A Hair Painting Class. Aubrey is the sweetest friend and had a stamp made for each of the girls in their goody bags to use on their magazines (because I can only imagine how quickly those disappear in hair salons!) We decided to stick with my classic design and calligraphy each of the girl's first names, and this way they can still use them for their own personal books too.
You can find your own here in my shop. Top photo originally form Aubrey's instagram

Haddock Fish Stamp

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

Another great fish stamp I designed for a family in Maryland. I love that these stamps are so versatile and can be used for letters or even in your home library. If you are looking for your own head over to my shop. Thanks!

Adams Family Book Stamp

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

This was one of those projects that was pretty fun to work on and stretched me past my comfort zone.  I had a request from a family whose real last name is Adams to create a book stamp for their family library.  After asking if they had any ideas about what they would like they said "We actually really like the font from The Addam's Family Movie title".  So I went ahead and added some of the elects from the movie font to my calligraphy and came up with what you see above- they loved it.  Then they asked for a spider web to be incorporated, but didn't want it goth or harsh but more soft and subtle like in Charlotte's Web.  I decided in order to keep the web looking organic and natural was to use a real spider web for inspiration and we ended up with the final product above.  It ended up being such a unique and fun project to work on.

Our Book Stamps: His & Hers

Wednesday, April 9, 2014

I figured it was about time to design something for myself.  I hadn't yet designed a book stamp for us but couldn't decide which design I wanted to go with.  I loved the wreath design I came up with but really also liked the original design I have been doing for many of my stamps with the solid and dotted circle.  I finally decided to go with the wreath when Scott mentioned that he really liked the circle design.  So I decided to get both.  I could use the wreath design for my books and he could use the circle design for some of his favorite books. Its a win win.

Both stamps are available in my shop.

Calligraphy Initial Return Address Stamps

Friday, April 4, 2014

I designed a couple new return address stamps.  These are a much simpler approach and feature a large calligraphy initial in the center of the stamp surrounded by your address and a solid circle.  You can purchase your own in my shop.

Seward Fish Stamp

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

I just love these stamps so much. They bring so much character to an otherwise boring and expected return address stamp. I love that people also use them as book stamps. If you are looking for your own fish stamp, check them out here in my shop.
