Watercolor Destination Wedding Invite

Monday, May 25, 2015

Seriously one of the most fun projects I have had the pleasure to work on recently.  My good friend Brooke is getting married in Florida as a destination wedding and asked for a simple card to send out to close family and friends.  We designed the card back in March and I can't get over how great it all came together.

I hand watercolored the waves to give a subtle nod to the wedding being on the beach and a destination!  Of course we added their names in calligraphy and included all their information for their wedding in clean simple type on the card. We printed them on a square card  but this design could easily be adapted to a rectangular 5x7 card with coordinating inserts like an RSVP card and an insert with additional information or a quote.  The card is also available for letterpress too which would look really beautiful with those waves at the bottom!

New Watercolor Bird Thank You Cards In The Shop!

Monday, March 2, 2015

I have this new thank you card listed in my shop! It is funny how things come together... I have been on this on going process to make my mom some cards she can use and she decided to use (with approval) some of my great uncle's watercolors (Eugene Sajcich) for the fronts of the card.  She sent this watercolor of the a little bird and I just fell in love with it.  I decided to add a plain type to the front of the card for now (I am thinking of adding 'thank you' in calligraphy when I get a chance) and we printed them on watercolor paper.

You can shop the cards in my shop as a set of four with envelopes! Thanks for looking!

Watercolor Peony and Calligraphy Wedding Invite

Wednesday, February 4, 2015

I recently completed a calligraphy watercolor peony and succulent wedding invitation.  I just love how beautiful these wedding invitations always come together and how pretty they look with the faux gold cascading dots incorporated throughout the invitation suite.

The bride and groom chose to print their own invitations this time so I designed all these and emailed them the digital files.  I worked to create a main invitation, an RSVP card that has their address on the flip side to use as a post card and then an invitation card to include extra information about where to stay and the couple's wedding website.

Julia Child Calligraphy and Watercolor Print

Monday, January 12, 2015

I have a new print in my shop!  We needed something to fill a large frame in our kitchen and I didn't love a lot of what I was finding online.  So I took out my watercolors and painted some rosemary I found in our garden and put one of my favorite quotes in calligraphy.  The print is 8x10 and can be found here!

What would be your favorite quote in print?? Thanks for looking!

Watercolor Business Cards

Friday, October 10, 2014

OH MY GOSH, I had so much fun working on this project.  Because of some watercolor cards I made for my friend Aubrey's Color Workshop Class, my new friend Katie wanted some custom watercolor business cards.  She is a hairstylist and wants to specialize in color so she wanted her cards to be bold and colorful.

We narrowed the color swatches down to three and on the back side they all had the same information: her contact number, email and instagram handle.  We also added space for her to write their next appointment.

One of my favorite parts of the cards is something you, as the reader on the internet, can't even see... its how they feel!  We printed a couple different options: one with a thicker white card stock feel, one with a watercolor paper feel (which she chose) and another with super thick white card stock, like an 1/8 of an inch thick! All were so great and I couldn't love and be happier with this project.

Thanks for working with my Katie! and if you are interested in your own set of watercolor calligraphy cards, check out my shop.

Custom Wedding Invitation Suite

Monday, October 6, 2014

My cousin got married over the weekend and I thought I would share the beautiful wedding invitations we designed for her wedding.  She had a small fall backyard wedding in the hills of Southern California and has always dreamed of decorating with succulents.  I did her and her husband's name in calligraphy and added watercolor peony and succulent motifs to the sides of the cards.  We also added some faux gold foil dots to help tie the whole card together.
This is a close up of the main invitation. We printed it on a thick shimmer white card stock and tied the whole group together with gold and white bakers twine.  It really helped tie together the faux gold dots, shimmer and gold in the twine (pun not intended).  On the back side, of the main invitation we included a small succulent with where they were registered underneath.

The other two inserts were a map and rsvp card.  The map was also printed on shimmer card stock and on the reverse side we included directions from the north and south and also a pointer about dressing for a garden wedding.  The RSVP card was printed on the thickest card stock available since it was meant to be sent through the mail. The reverse side had one succulent and the return address listed below it with s tamp in the corner.

Please understand that I love working on every project, but since I am not classically trained my work sometimes continues to surprise me in how amazing it turns out.  I love this invitation suite and am so proud of it. Lots of love to the newly wed couple!

Watercolor Calligraphy Thank You Cards

Friday, October 3, 2014

Another one of those, I should have thought of that sooner items I just listed in my shop.  My sister called me one day and said she had been shopping and looking for some thank you cards and couldn't find any that she loved so she asked me to make her some. I immediately said yes and we got to work designing a bunch of different colors and ideas for cards.
She decided on wanting the card to say 'Thank You' instead of 'Thanks' but I think they both look so great that I thought I would include them both.  Right now I am selling the cards individually, but if anyone was interested, I could sell them in sets.  I also can offer custom colors if you don't love the swatches (and I also have some colors that aren't shown!)- jus send me an email or message.
If you wanted your own set of cards or even just one, head over to my shop and let me know which one! Thanks for looking!

Watercolor Calligraphy 'You Are My Sunshine' Print

Monday, September 29, 2014

I designed a beautiful new print for my shop! My cousin is updating her son's nursery/ big boy room and wanted the song 'You Are My Sunshine' written out in calligraphy.  Since I have started working with a lot of watercolor (and loving it!) I decided to watercolor a gradient from red to orange to yellow and have it peak through the calligraphy words. The outcome is so beautiful!

She asked for the print to be made really large so that it was the focal point on the wall.  I printed it on 11x14 white card stock printed here in the USA.  It would slip into a 16x18 frame perfectly and have a beautiful mat framing it.

If you are interested in your own print or maybe want it in a different size/ color swatch please leave me a message or visit my shop and I would love to work with you!
