DIY: Use Pictures as Ornaments

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

We had some friends over the past weekend and decided to break out our new fujifilm instax camera I just bought.  We had the polaroids just laying around and our friend had a brilliant idea to clothespin them to the tree as ornaments (since we don't have many ornaments).  I love the idea of using pictures as ornaments! You could even use them at a party or a way to collect memories over the years... so fun! Photo from my instagramMerry Christmas!

Salt Lake Flowers

Friday, May 24, 2013

The flowers around Salt Lake were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. It was so refreshing to see something so beautiful, alive and colorful (things around here are looking up but we look like now what everyone else looked like in March- buds just starting to grow). Most of the flowers were tulips and poppies with some others scattered in between.
All of the blooms were huge! Every tulip was about the size of my hand, they weren't the small ones you see in stores but about 6 inches tall.
I couldn't believe that every tree and plant were in bloom. (above) I have never seen a feathered tulip in person and it was stunning.  (below) That flowered tree was wild, it had all these blooming branches that went in every direction. Also, the color pallets were just amazing to me.
The craziest thing is this is how most of the city looked! Most of these pictures were taken at our hotel but every where you walked or drove you would see flowers planted along the streets in giant pots and in front yards.

Thank you Salt Lake for getting me inspired!

Monday Night

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Monday night was pretty funny. It has been raining here for about 4 days now (which is a nice change!) and coming home we noticed a bunch of soaking branches on our wreath and front steps of our home. When I looked up I saw a bird trying to build a nest right above the light for our door. We encourage nest building but will all the stuff that has already fallen on us during the process we didn't want the change of also getting popped on, so we put up our trusty gold elephant to scare them away- it worked last time. Now we have a clean stoop and don't have to worry about dodging anything coming or going from our home.

Ideas to Use Burlap Table Runner

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

I have been seeing a lot of beautiful ways to use burlap table runners. Here are some ideas.

I thought I would show you some examples to style burlap table runners. They are great for weddings, big or small parties, home get togethers or just a nice dinner for your family.

You can buy a custom made and finished burlap table runner here at my shop. The sides are sewn under so there is no fraying on your set table.
